BT vision’s Sky Sports pricing has ushered in the next era of pay TV competition with its launch of the best deal in the UK for Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2, at only £16.99 per month. With BT Vision Sky Sports deals, consumers can add the sports channels for the per-month amount, on a monthly contract. For just £11.99, they can choose to add either Sky Sports 1 on its own, or Sky Sports 2.
The Sky Sports BT Vision pricing means that customers who commit to a broadband and call bundle on a 24-month contract can get a deal that is better still, starting at only £6.99 for ESPN, Sky Sports 1 and BT Vision’s ‘on demand’ sports channels. Alternatively, for £11.99, they get ESPN, Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2, as well as ‘on demand’ sports. The second deal is £205 less expensive than the equivalent Sky currently offers, and £281 less than a year’s worth of Virgin Media.
BT customers will be able to sign up for the Sky Sports BT Vision deals right away, well before the start of the next Premier League football season, due to kick-off on the 14th of August.

Sky and BT recently signed an agreement in which BT is set to receive a wholesale supply of Sky Sports on BT Vision. The deal will enable BT clients to sign up for the sports subscription channels in the beginning of July, and BT Vision clients can watch Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 from the 1st of August, in plenty of time to enjoy the Premier League football season from its launch on the 14th of August. BT is due to announce its pricing for the popular sports channels soon.

Watch Sky Sports on BT Vision
According to BT Retail’s chief executive, Gavin Patterson, the company is pleased to have Sky Sports on BT Vision, as it means it can offer the two great sporting channels to its clients prior to the kick-off of the football season. Patterson is confident that BT’s customers will be eager to subscribe to Sky Sports on BT Vision.
This can only be good news for the consumer, with cheaper prices all round! We look forward to making a Sky Sports Pricing Comparison table for you shortly but there are Sky Sports packages on BT Vision from £6.99! Now that is a cheap Sky Sports offer than cannot be ignored, especially before the Premiership kicks off!

It looks like BT’s announcement has sparked a war of Fibre Optics with Virgin Media!
BT’s new fibre optic-based brand of broadband – the Infinity service - boasts speeds of as much as 40Mbps, and will give clients upload speeds of as much as 10Mbps, BT claims. By 2011, four million users will have access to it. The basic Infinity service will cost £19.99 pm on an 18-month contract, but only users on a £24.99 pm contract will have 10Mbps uploading.

BT Infinity Broadband
Virgin Media has refuted BT’s claims that the Infinity service is superior to theirs, especially on upload speeds and price. The XXL service from Virgin Media offers 50Mbps speeds, and it claims that, while both operators use copper wire for the final stretch to the client’s house, its DOCSIS 3.0 coaxial cable technology is 25% quicker than BT’s VDSL2 copper wire technology.
BT pointed out that the Infinity Option 1 service is £7.47 pm less than Virgin Media’s XXL broadband. Virgin Media responded that BT’s Infinity service is inferior value because of BT’s 20GB download cap. It also claims that BT’s compulsory phone line costs £11.54 pm extra, while Virgin Media charges only £11 pm, making the price difference just £2.47. The war of words seems set to continue until the final showdown in December.
