Sunday’s Carling Cup Final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will be shown live on Sky sports 1 with coverage starting at 2.30pm (kick off 3pm). Last year’s winners, Spurs, are once again the clear underdogs in what could well be an enthralling final. Manchester Utd had few problems breezing past Derby County in the Semi Final, but Spurs had an almighty scare against Burnley. Since then the form of the Red Devils has been imperious, whereas the Lillywhites have struggled to find any sort of consistency.
I’m lucky enough to have snagged a ticket to the final, so what will I see played out on the hallowed Wembley turf?
My prediction is that Spurs will score first via a deflected shot from Jermain Jenas, but will be unable to hang on to that lead. Man Utd will win a dodgy penalty, dived and converted by Ronaldo. Berbatov (obviously) will score what seems to be the winner on 70 minutes - an angled header off his alice band. BUT in the second minute of injury time, Rio Ferdinand will rugby tackle Aaron Lennon, flattening him inside the box. Pavlyuchenko steps up and calmly slots the penalty into the corner. 2-2 and it’s extra time… I have seen the freakish events that lead to the cup winning goal, but if you want to find out what happens, you’ll have to watch the game!

I just have a standard Sky box myself so I am seriously considering this offer, with a 42inch plasma TV normal definition TV just does not cut the mustard…….
