The Sky £15 online credit will be removed as of the 1st Jan 2009.

This is a  limited offer which will only last until the end of the year, so make sure you sign up to sky before then!

UK VAT Rate Change

As you will be aware, the Chancellor reduced the UK VAT rate from 17.5% to 15%, effective from 1st December.

In order to ensure that Sky customers benefit from this change, they are reducing prices on applicable products and services.

The new Sky prices will be effective from 1st January 2009, all customers will receive a rebate for the December period.

The Third round of the FA Cup is always an exciting affair, and Setanta Sports have released details of some of the ties they will be covering as the premierships Big Guns enter the fray to take on some of the minnows. Here are a few of the stand out fixtures!

West Ham Fans At the Cup Final

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Wigan Athletic. The eight times winners take on a solid Wigan Athletic side, who have unearthed one of the finds on the season in Amir Zaki, will the defending champions allow Harry Redknapp a Happy New Year?

Southampton vs Man United.  The repeat of the 1976 final will guarantee a full house at St. Mary’s Stadium and Manchester United, eleven-time FA Cup winners, will have to be at their best to proceed to the Fourth Round.

Blythe or Bournemouth.  Blackburn will of course want to avoid any upset, there’s the real chance of a giant-killing in the game that takes place on Monday, January 5th at 8pm.

Setanta’s coverage of the FA Cup this season is the first of a four-year deal signed with the FA. It entitles Setanta to broadcast up to 25 games from the FA Cup every season; including two exclusively live quarter-finals, one exclusively live semi-final and the final itself (also broadcast by joint rights holder ITV).

The Mighty West Ham United are playing Aston Villa at Upton Park this Saturday (20th December 2008). I am lucky enough to have a ticket to this clash of the claret & blue titans, but if you do not then luckily this match is on Setanta Sports 1, with a 5:30 kick off.

In some good news for digital TV viewers, BSkyB and Virgin Media have ended their twenty month long dispute, and have agreed to carry each others channels.

The two companies had failed to reach an agreement over pricing and that led to Sky channels being pulled off Virgins cable platform last year.

High Court proceedings have now been terminated, but the two companies will not disclose the new carriage fees.

I think this is a good outcome for all, especially the consumer! My Mother was distraught when she could not catch the latest episode of LOST! She should be happy now.

There is a big fight coming up between Calzaghe and Jones Jnr, on Saturday November 8th.

Will this be Calzaghe’s last professional fight? This hugely anticipated battle is promised to be a classic, shown exclusively live on Setanta!
