The introduction of the Sky+ box represents a complete change in the way television can be watched.

The Sky+ box gives the viewer the ability to control when and how they view television. Sky+ will allow you to pause, rewind and record TV programs at the touch of button.

The record function allows you to store up to 40hrs of digital television without the need for any other device, tapes or DVDs. As the Sky+ box is twin tuner it is possible to watch one channel while recording another. It is also possible to record two different programs at once.

Sky has added extra features to this box such as the ability to set it to record whole program series. Series Link will allow you to set up the box to record each episode of a series in one simple step. Another feature included in the box is the ability to set the Sky+ to record remotely using your mobile phone or the internet.

The Sky+ box is installed in the same way as the standard Sky box. There is a one off £30 installation fee and the box itself cost £99, although this price is reduced if combined with other packages such as Sky Multiroom. Each minidish can support up to four separate Sky boxes.

Please note: SKY+ will not allow you to watch or record programs in HD (High Definition). For that you will need a SKY+ HD Box.

Sky Multiroom is a service offered by Sky whereby different programs can be watched in different rooms at the same time.

If for example a member of your household wants to watch football and some else wants to watch another channel, Sky Multiroom allows both channels to be watched simultaneously Subcription to Sky Multiroom costs £10 per month extra and another box is required for each additional room or television. Each additional box needs to purchased from Sky for a one off fee and connected to the same telephone line as the main box. The one off installation fee is £60.
